Holden gets on a train late at night. He meets a mother of a student at Pencey and thinks she is very attractive, he doesn't give her his real name because he doesn't want to raise suspicion. He tells his mother that he is one of the most popular boys in school, then he tells her he has to go because of a brain tumor.
